Chiropractic care
Chiropractic care focuses on assessing and treating conditions affecting the spine, joints, muscles, and nervous system to help reduce pain, restore movement, and improve overall function. A Chiropractor may use Soft tissue release which targets tight muscles, fascia, and connective tissues to relieve tension, improve flexibility, and support recovery. They may also use Exercise therapy which uses personalized stretches and strengthening exercises to improve mobility, build stability, prevent future injuries, and help patients achieve long-term results.
Soft-Tissue Release
Soft tissue release (STR) is a hands-on .technique used to assess and treat the tissue of the body. The soft tissues of the body (muscle, tendon, fascia and ligaments) are prone to acute and chronic injury, which leads to swelling, adhesions and fibrosis (scarring) of the tissue. This type of injury often results in pain, loss of mobility, strength, and function. Soft tissue release targets specific areas of tension within an individual muscle with the aim of removing scar tissue and adhesion to relieve muscular tension and pain.
Acupuncture
Western medical acupuncture is a therapeutic modality involving the insertion of fine needles; it is an adaptation of Chinese acupuncture using current knowledge of anatomy, physiology and pathology, and the principles of evidence based medicine. While Western medical acupuncture has evolved from Chinese acupuncture, its practitioners no longer adhere to concepts such as Yin/Yang and circulation of qi, and regard acupuncture as part of conventional medicine rather than a complete “alternative medical system”. It acts mainly by stimulating the nervous system, and its known modes of action include local antidromic axon reflexes, segmental and extrasegmental neuromodulation, and other central nervous system effects. Western medical acupuncture is principally used by conventional healthcare practitioners, most commonly in primary care. It is mainly used to treat musculoskeletal pain, including myofascial trigger point pain.
Concussion and Vestibular Rehab
Concussion and vestibular rehabilitation is a personalized treatment approach designed to help individuals recover from symptoms such as dizziness, balance problems, nausea, neck pain, headaches, and difficulty with movement or vision. Through targeted exercises and evidence-based techniques, rehabilitation helps restore balance, reduce symptoms, improve coordination, and support a safe return to daily activities, work, and sport.
